This 3-hour course is taught in the comfort and privacy of your own home. During our time, we will discuss the history and culture of birth in the USA, labor and delivery, pain management (including comfort measures and medications), and information on interventions. Lactation Counseling and Support

As Certified Lactation Counselors we offer support and understanding to the families we serve. We understand that breastfeeding decisions are made by the mother, who may have values and goals different from others. We work to solve problems quickly, offer the mother and her family appropriate support in a non-judgmental way, and advocate for the family. Lactation education can be taught before baby arrives and/or once baby is born. It is never too late to reach out for support.

The CLC credential signifies that we have demonstrated the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitudes to provide breastfeeding counseling and management support to families who are thinking about breastfeeding or who have questions or problems during the course of breastfeeding/lactation. CLCs are dedicated to the promotion, protection, and support of breastfeeding and human lactation in their work to prevent and solve breastfeeding problems. Research has shown that the education required of CLCs prior to certification is associated with improved breastfeeding outcomes.
